In collaboration with Bowker, BIC is currently running a series of webinars focussing on the subject of “You and Your ONIX Provider – Forming a Successful Partnership”. The first webinar was held on Friday 8th July 2016, 4pm UK time.
BIC will repeat this session - with different speakers - on 27th September 2016, 2pm UK time.
What will these sessions cover?
These sessions will be aimed at publishers who have reached a point where it makes sense for them to begin using an integrated product and data management system or service that can maintain their metadata and produce ONIX files, or to switch to a more sophisticated system. The sessions will explore how to begin to find the best supplier. Publishing management software vendors and ONIX service providers are plentiful and it’s important that publishers find the one that best meets their publishing needs.
The July 2016 Session
This webinar took place on Friday 8th July 2016. The webinar panel included two moderators, Claire Holloway (Bookmasters) and Graham Bell (EDItEUR), who provided useful tools and demonstrated how a publisher might research ONIX services. Representatives from three product and data management system providers – BooksONIX, Firebrand Technologies and Stison – also participated.
The September 2016 Session
This webinar took place on Tuesday 27th September 2016. The webinar panel included Jo Burges of i-Publishing Consultants Ltd as our moderator and representatives from three product and data management system providers – GiantChair, Klopotek and Virtusales Publishing Solutions.
BIC plans to expand this series of webinars to focus on other parts of the ONIX implementation process at a later date.
