Order Cancellation Request and Response Web service
The formats have been designed to enable a customer to request cancellation of order items that have been placed on back-order by a supplier and to enable the supplier to response by accepting or rejecting the request and, if the latter, providing a reason for rejecting it. A typical implementation will be as a value-added service offered by wholesalers and distributors. The typical user will be a bookseller, but occasionally a wholesaler.

The formats have been designed to handle the supply of product information in ONIX format as a value-added service offered by wholesalers and distributors as well as by bibliographic information services. The typical user of this service will generally be a bookseller, but occasionally a wholesaler referring a bookseller's enquiry on to the distributor or to a bibliographic information service.

MARC Product Information Request and Response Web Service
The formats have been designed to handle the supply of product information in MARC 21 or UK MARC format as a value-added service offered by wholesalers and distributors as well as by bibliographic information services. The typical user of this service will generally be a library or a library supplier referring a library enquiry on to the distributor or to a bibliographic information service.

Order Request and Response Web Service
This service will enable the use of web services for the placing of orders by retailers (or possibly, in the case of smaller retailers, their agents) with wholesalers or distributors, or possibly the placing of orders by wholesalers with distributors, where this complements existing paper-based and electronic ordering methods. Using this service, the buyer can receive an immediate response to the order and not simply a technical acknowledgement of receipt.

Request Financial Document List Web Service
This service answers the need for buyers, including EDI users, to ensure that they are aware of all invoices and credit notes issued by a particular supplier by enabling a buyer to retrieve a list of invoices and credit notes, selected by date-of-issue range or by whether they are settled or not yet settled.

Where a suitable trading partner agreement exists, there is a need for a buyer to be able to retrieve financial documents as digital documents from a supplier, either directly or through an aggregation service. There is a need to be able to retrieve both original documents and, where documents are missing or are altered outside the system, copies of originals.

Where a suitable trading partner agreement exists, there is a need for a supplier to be able to post invoices and credit notes as digital documents to a buyer or to an aggregation service, both as original and as copy documents.
